Nobody raises a healthy baby alone.

This is not just a feel-good campaign.
It is a genuine commitment to connecting our community with every family with a baby.
Each year around 100 babies are born in the lower Russian River area—from Forestville to Jenner to the surrounding area. Every month we connect with more and more babies and our community is better for it!
These are our families and our babies. No one raises a healthy baby alone — not then, not now, and not here in the lower Russian River area. Having happy, healthy babies … who grow up to be happy, healthy adults … keeps our community thriving.
Here’s what we are asking of you:
We are launching a One Tiny Thing campaign. It’s focused on the One Tiny Thing that YOU can do make a difference in a baby’s life. Click HERE to see things you can do.

“In my work, I see how vital those first 1000 days of life are, and how toxic stress can change a baby’s brain and body forever. I am convinced that supporting families with young children with direct support and family-friendly policies are two of the most effective ways I can contribute as a physician and healthcare leader.
I am also committed to making One Tiny Thing a true movement, and I hope you will look around and see what one tiny thing you can do.”

“My one tiny thing is believing. I believe it’s possible to create a family-friendly school–one that partners with families from the very beginning and nurtures all learners. I believe this is possible, and I’m working with many wonderful people here in our community who want to make this happen.”

“My one tiny thing is expressed every day through my work. Spending the last 20 years at River to Coast Children’s Services has deeply shaped who I am. On a daily basis, I see the truth that when we work together as a community, we create stronger opportunities for children and families. One of the most meaningful parts of my work has been building relationships with families over the years, listening to their needs, and helping connect them with support, resources, and a sense of belonging. It reminds me every day that even small acts of care and collaboration can make a lasting difference.”

“My one tiny thing is being a Zumbini teacher. Growing up in the Russian River community shaped so much of who I am, so being able to now give back through Zumbini feels incredibly special to me. One of my favorite parts has been reconnecting with people from my childhood who are now parents too, and creating a fun, welcoming space where local families can connect, make memories, and feel supported through music and movement.”

“My one tiny thing is finding ways for local families to experience tiny daily doses of positive social connections that build resilience. I remember how much this helped me when I had little ones. I believe putting effort into small actions will have long-term benefits for our local families.”

“Soup is my one tiny thing. Once a month, I watch families with babies and toddlers mingle, laugh, share worries and joys, sitting together with their little ones, playing and eating bowls of hot homemade organic soup. Does soup build community? I don’t know, but it is a delicious “tiny thing” that can bring people together!”
